Neutral Zone

Today I had an early morning shoot. Call time 8:45 a.m. and I went to bed at around 3:30 a.m., so I was running merely on adrenaline! I had a lot of fun and the model was absolutely fabulous! This was her first shoot and you would never know from the fierceness she put forth honey! I have a couple of behind the scenes pictures with my good old point and shoot. When I get the real pictures I will be sure to post them.

In November of last year Sleek Makeup had a 50% off sale. I was super excited to hear about it, because I had been looking at reviews and swatches on the internet for months. I had no idea how popular this sale would be! I woke up at 6 a.m. turned my computer on, ready to go! It took me a couple of days before I could finally put my order through. Their server was so overwhelmed, that it could not handle the volume of customers that were trying to order. So, finally after a little over a month I received my order...phew!!

I don't know about you, but I'm all about makeup books and education. I have books from Sam Fine, Iman, Kevyn Aucoin, Scott Barnes, Bobbi Brown, the list goes on and on. I love reading and learning tips and techniques from the masters of makeup. There is no denying that Francois Nars is most definitely one of them!

Rock & Republic Eyeshadow Swatches

So I went on a Rock & Republic eyeshadow buying spree! They were such a good deal that I just couldn't pass them up. After looking at all the reviews and swatches I could no longer resist! Then I saw that on The Fancy Face to top off the discount they were already offering there was an additional 50% off. So the eyeshadows went from $28, to $7! Now you know that was just too good to be true! They sent me the wrong color in my second order, so I am waiting on one other color. So here are the colors I ordered:

Naked Day & Night

Ok, ok, so I know the title is a little risque...lol! I'm talking about makeup. I had more clients today. A wedding this morning and a birthday party in the evening. So I was pretty busy. I changed the look from a day to an evening look using the Urban Decay Naked palette.

On the Brink of Something Good

I had a wedding to do today and since I just received my Rock & Republic eyeshadows and I couldn't wait to use them. They are really nice! I'll do swatches later. On to the fotd!

Inglot Pigment Review with Swatches

So I have been trying for the last two days to take pictures of these pigments to no avail. It has been dreary and cloudy for several days. Finally, the sun came out long enough today for me to take the pictures. I'm still not completely satisfied with the quality, but I'm sure that is user error. Got to practice my photography skills a little more diligently...lol! Anyway here is my review on the Inglot pigments:

MAC Peacocky Kissable Lipcolour Swatches

The Kissable Lipcolors have great staying power on my lips, which is a feat in and of itself. Most colors cake on me, but these stayed on, even after eating and drinking. I did apply the Mac lip primer for Love Peck, so that could have contributed as well.

MAC Peacocky Mega Metal Eyeshadow Swatches

Here are the swatches of the Peacocky products I swatched. I must say that I am very impressed with this collection. The quality is superior to a lot of the Mac collections I have been seeing lately. A lot of the colors of the Mega Metal shadows may be dupeable, but it is the texture of the shadows that makes them stand out. They are so buttery and pigmented. My fave is definitely Paparazz-she!

I finally started a blog!

Well, finally after procrastinating I have finally started a blog! I started this blog in hopes of being able to help those who love and have a passion for makeup just like I do. I also started it to be able to release more of my creativity and use some of the tons of products I have. This is totally new for me, and I hope that not only am I able to teach and help, but that I also learn and grow. Thanks!
