Crease/Blending Brushes Part 3 & 4
Finally onto the conclusion of my crease and blending brushes. These brushes are my multi-use brushes. Sometimes we can get stuck on the description of a brush and use it for only that purpose. I have found that some of my brushes are created for one use, but work best as something completely different. You definitely need to experiment, because you never know what may work best. Please check out my first post to read more information on brush hairs, uses, etc. here.

Crease/Blending Brushes Part 2
So continuing on with my comparisons. Today I will be discussing what I like to use as detail brushes for my crease because they are so small. I use them when I want to carve out my crease and create a really defined shape. Please refer to this post for more detail on crease brushes and brush hairs.

Crease/Blending Brush Comparisons Part 1
I decided that with the one million and one brushes that I have I needed to do a comparison post. Since I love a great blended eye I will start with blending and crease brushes. Blending/crease brushes are an essential part of an eye look.
Unless you are intentionally creating a harsh or carved crease then you absolutely need blending/crease brushes to diffuse and blend colors smoothly and evenly from one to the next. I typically blend the colors where they meet. These brushes are also excellent when you have heavily pigmented colors that you want to have lightly applied to the brow, crease, or mobile lid. They are also great for a light wash of color over the eye.

More Hakuhodo Brushes
I posted my collective Makeup Show haul and wanted to start posting the items I purchased. If any you have been reading this blog you know that I looooove Hakuhodo! I didn't have a lot of time to shop there my first day because I was taking classes all day. I had about an hour after my class to stop by the booth and do some damage, and damage I did! I was making so many purchases that my bank froze my card right as the show was closing up for the day...ugh! I was able to call and let them know that I was making the charges and they freed up my card so that I could take my precious Hakuhodo brushes home with me...yay!! Here the brushes I purchased from the show:
Update: Hakuhodo will be selling the J series brushes online. They are slated to release somewhere between 80-90 brushes! They should be available for sale by the end of July or the beginning of August. To prepare yourself pre-release, check out more of the J series brushes here. I know I'm getting my list ready...lol!

Makeup Show NYC 2012 haul
Hey everyone!! I know, I know! It's been ages since I posted! I'm back with my NYC Makeup Show haul. I know it's a day late and a dollar short, but better late than never right?! As usual I went with my girls. We have been going to this show since 2008. I have watched this show get bigger and bigger each year. This year was no exception. I did take two classes as well. I took a contouring and highlighting class with Danessa Myricks, and a hair class with Johnny Lavoy. There were so many brands and products that I didn't know where to look first. I did some serious damage and enjoyed every minute of it! There is nothing like makeup therapy!!! I will slowly but surely be posting swatches of these products. So without further ado here is my haul:

Hakuhodo Haul
Hello and Happy New Year friends! I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas as well! My Christmas was fantastic!!! My honey treated me quite well this year! :) One of my gifts was cash for Hakuhodo brushes.
Here is what I hauled from Hakuhodo before the price increase. A lot of the brushes I purchased did not increase and few had quite a large increase. The G520 foundation brush had the largest increase of the brushes I purchased, increasing from $60 to $94! I wished I would have known which other brushes were having a large increase that were on my list so that I could have purchased them first. At least I don't have many brushes left on my list with a large increase. I just received these brushes yesterday so I haven't had a chance to use them yet. This post will just be pictures and descriptions.

Hakuhodo Price Increase
I have just been informed that Hakuhodo the Japanese brush manufacturer has announced a price increase effective January 1, 2012. As you all know I have purchased several Hakuhodo brushes. Check out my post: Hakuhodo.
I have made several more purchases since then and have been more than pleased with every purchase. Hakuhodo takes care and pride in every brush they make and it shows in the craftsmanship and quality. If you were thinking about purchasing Hakuhodo brushes I would seriously think about trying to get as many as you can before the price increase. You can purchase the brushes online at Hakuhodo USA. Shipping to the USA is a flat rate of 9.00. I typically receive my shipment three days after purchase.

Sunset Over the Ocean
I'm sorry for not posting as often. This month has been extremely busy with weddings and proms, and next month is even busier. I will try to sneak in some posts in between the mayhem.

A Little Bit of Sunshine
It's been a while since I've posted a fotd, so I figured I was long overdue. This one is not as good as I would have liked, because I took the pictures after about a ten hour day, so sorry it's not as fresh looking as it should be.

Happy St. Patty's Day
I wore this look in for St. Patrick's Day today. I took these pictures after a long day, so excuse me if the makeup doesn't look fresh. Please note colors or brushes are MAC unless listed otherwise.

Hakuhodo Brushes
My Hakuhodo brushes came today...yay!!! After seeing these brushes at the New York Makeup Show in 2008, I was curious. Now, there are tons of great reviews out there, so I thought it was high time I made a purchase. Of course, this won't be a review(that will come later)since I just received them, but I can tell you my initial thoughts.
